Барак Обама обещает защитить Восточную Европу
Комментируя программу президента США, члены его администрации не смогли ответить на вопрос, состоится ли в ходе этого турне встреча Барака Обамы и Владимира Путина. 6 июня лидеры двух стран примут участие в церемонии, посвященной 70-летию высадки союзных войск в Нормандии. В Белом доме считают: прошедшие на Украине президентские выборы и начатый Россией отвод войск из приграничных регионов свидетельствуют о том, что самая острая фаза кризиса пройдена. На прошлой неделе, выступая перед выпускниками военной академии West Point, президент Обама особо подчеркнул, что начать урегулирование ситуации удалось благодаря решительным действиям США.
В результате в Вашингтоне решили отложить введение нового пакета «секторальных санкций» против России. На таком решении настаивали представители нескольких европейских государств, опасающихся, что чрезмерно жесткие меры могут создать экономические проблемы для стран ЕС. Тем не менее, по словам представителей администрации, во время своего турне президент Обама намерен продемонстрировать, что США продолжат политику изоляции России и в случае необходимости окажут военную поддержку европейским союзникам.
Утром во вторник глава Белого дома должен сфотографироваться с американскими и польскими летчиками, выполняющими совместные тренировочные полеты на базе ВВС в Варшаве. Съемка пройдет в ангаре, на фоне самолетов F-16. После этого Барак Обама проведет переговоры с президентом и премьер-министром Польши, а также встретится с лидерами стран Восточной Европы, включая прибалтийские государства.
На следующий день глава Белого дома встретится с избранным президентом Украины Петром Порошенко и выступит на торжествах, посвященных 25-летию проведения в Польше первых свободных выборов. В своей речи Барак Обама еще раз заявит об обязательствах США по защите государств региона.
Вечером в среду Барак Обама отправится в Брюссель, где проведет встречу с лидерами стран «семерки». Он намерен убедить лидеров Великобритании, Франции, Германии, Канады, Италии и Японии продолжить политику изоляции в отношении России. Продолжающийся вооруженный конфликт на востоке Украины, по мнению Вашингтона, угрожает безопасности Европы.
Поводом для беспокойства США стали и запланированные на четверг переговоры Владимира Путина с президентом Франции Франсуа Олландом.
