Командир боевиков города Славянска Игорь Стрелков признал, что соотношение сил противоборствующих сторон в городе является для них крайне тяжелым. Он отметил, что с приходом Порошенко ситуация сильно ухудшится.

«Я думаю, ситуация изменится в худшую сторону. Так называемый легитимный президент немедленно обратится за помощью к странам НАТО и Запада. Мы будем ждать у себя новые натовские танки, советников и наемников. Больше будет снарядов, солдат и жертв», - заявил Стрелков.

Он привел статистику, согласно которой в Славянске в пехоте на одного ополченца приходится примерно пять-шесть украинских военнослужащих. По его словам, в городе сосредоточено 50-60 единиц артиллерии и одна-две батареи "Градов", а также большое количество танков.

«Соотношение сил остается достаточно тяжелым. Большая часть артиллерии противника сосредоточено на позициях, которые для нас недосягаемы. Они расстреливают нас с дальних расстояний. Мы можем только врываться в землю, строить укрепления, но противодействовать этому мы не в состоянии. Наши минометы не достают до позиций гаубиц. Тем более что там есть такие калибры как 240 миллиметров», - подчеркнул «Стрелок».

Он также ожидает гуманитарную катастрофу не только в Славянске, но и во всем Донбассе. «Это будет гуманитарная катастрофа не городского масштаба, а регионального и даже мирового», - сказал Стрелков.

При этом он уточнил, что выход видит только во вводе российских миротворческих сил, поскольку «другие здесь не будут приняты». Напоследок он пообещал «сопротивляться до последней возможности».
